Flights & Getting to Krabi

The most convenient way to travel to Krabi is to get a domestic connect flight from Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) to Krabi Airport (KBV) using Thai Airways www.thaiairways.com or Bangkok Airways www.bangkokair.com . Both airlines operate 3-4 daily flights between BKK and KBV (Flight time is ~1:20hr). Please check with your preferred airline, usually luggage can be checked through to Krabi Airport.

Also in Bangkok is Don Mueang International Airport (DMK). Booking your connecting flight from DMK to Krabi is NOT recommended. It is quite far from BKK airport and could take more than an hour to travel between the two airports.

If you will be attending the Winter School in Chiang Mai (CNX) the week before, there are 2 direct flights to Krabi (KBV). Air Asia website: www.airasia.com

It is also possible to travel by air-conditioned coach from Bangkok or by train + local buses. However, the journey can be quite long (> 12 hours) and may not be convenient for your travel plans.

Getting to Ao Nang Beach

Ao Nang Beach is 26 km from Krabi Airport. The most convenient way is to arrange the airport transfer directly with your hotel. Airport taxis are also available at similar cost (THB 600-700).
