Multi-Frequency VLBI Studies of AGN Core-shift Effect

Date: 18-19 December 2014

Location:
Room 331-2, Jangyoungsil hall, Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute (KASI)
Daejeon, Korea

We are pleased to announce the workshop “Multi-Frequency VLBI Studies of AGN Core-shift Effect”. Measuring the effect of frequency-dependent core-shifts of AGNs using the Very Long Baseline Interferometer (VLBI) at multi-frequencies provides a unique tool to study conditions at the central regions of AGNs.

This two-day workshop aims to review theoretical perspectives and observational results about the AGN core-shift effect, and to discuss these issues and share the views including possible collaboration. Topics include: physical properties of jet opacity, VLBI astrometry, Radio-Optical reference frame and multi-frequency VLBI system. This workshop will feature invited/contributed talks and discussions.

If you are interested, please register by giving your full name, affiliation, email, position and title/abstract of your presentation (if any) via Email to Taehyun Jung: thjung@kasi.re.kr until December 6. Questions and comments also should be sent to the same email address.
